The Justice Visions Portable
Scanner Camera (PSC) is a portable camera designed to be used as a scanner
of documents and books and as a hi-resolution presentation camera. Also,
when combined with your standard printer the PSC functions as a "photo
copy machine". Nicknamed the "Doc Express", the PSC incorporates
a hi-res camera(over 2-million pixels) capable of clearly scanning an A-4
size color page in one second. Simply plug the camera into your computer's
USB 2.0 connector and you're ready to begin scanning magazines, books, documents
and 3-D objects. After scanning, use the software utility to save the image
to your hard drive, e-mail it or print it. The PSC weighs less than 1-lbs.
and folds up compactly to fit easily in most computer bags or backpacks.
When in use, the camera arm is extended to provide a pefect focal length
for capturing A4 size pages (or smaller). This scanner is ideal for students,
professors and business people desiring a portable scanning solution, and
may also be used as a "document camera" to show live images of
documents and 3-D objects during presentations.
When using the PCS Doc Express as a live document camera with a data
projector, the image clarity of documents is great, so even 12 point type
of an 8.5" x 11" page is projected clearly. The image is surprisingly
clear for a camera at this price point. On the other hand, the refresh
rate is approximately 10 frames/second, and there is no "zoom"
capability. Still, this price point, the camera should be considered by
schools as an economical document camera that shows documents clearly.
